The Keystone beta opened on 8 October, and you've been busy. Thank you for every report so far. This update brings Keystone to more Macs and Windows PCs and fixes a long list of the things you spotted. Steam downloads it for you.
💻 Mac & Windows
- Keystone now runs on Intel Macs as well as Apple silicon Macs, on macOS 13.3 Ventura or newer. If it wouldn't open on your Mac before, give it another go.
- Keystone now starts on PCs with older Intel graphics, such as 4th and 5th generation Intel Core processors.
- PCs without a DirectX 12 graphics driver now fall back to the software drawing built into Windows. It's slower, but the game runs.
- Fixed the game failing to start on Windows when it was installed in a folder with accented letters, or when your Windows user name had them.
- If Keystone can't start on Windows, it now tells you why and offers to open its log folder. The log is client.log in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Habbo\Origins\logs. Please attach it when you report a problem.
🏠 Rooms
- Public rooms open faster. The loading bar now fills as the room is built, and you walk in as soon as it's ready instead of waiting about three seconds more.
- Fixed rooms sometimes never finishing loading when you entered one right after logging in.
- Fixed the login screen getting stuck connecting when you signed in again after a disconnect.
- The Welcome Lounge now plays its music, First Steps.
- Sci-fi doors now open properly: the panels sink into the floor instead of leaving slivers at head height.
- The minimised Info Stand now shows big hats, beards and head accessories at full size instead of squashing them.
💡 Lighting
- Rooms whose owner hasn't chosen any lighting now keep the classic unlit Origins look, instead of turning grey under the Day preset.
- Shiny furni such as plastic chairs and tables, trophies, fans, the ice cream machine, elephant statues, drinks machines and coolers, the hot tub, geyser, waterfall and snow no longer light up the floor around them. They keep their shine, but they don't act as lamps any more.
- Party neons and party lights now light your room like a nightclub, each in its own colour.
- Light no longer shows on the black loading screen before a room appears.
🖥️ Resizable mode
- Rooms no longer creep a few pixels as you walk in a maximised window. To pan right to the room's edges as before, turn on Pan to room edges in the Game Menu under Graphics → Display.
- When a maximised window is too small for the UI scale you picked, the Game Menu now suggests Fullscreen instead of asking you to enlarge the window.
- Photos now capture exactly what the camera viewfinder shows, even when you're zoomed in.
- The room no longer jumps when you take a photo or start talking to an NPC.
- The arrows in the room tutorial and the hotel tour now point at the right toolbar buttons.
- Blueprint Studio now stretches across the window above the toolbar, and its close button works.
- Rubber Duck Rally's scoreboard and golden duck banner now stay at the top of the window instead of covering the red team's nest.
- Instant Game panels can now be dragged anywhere in a large window.
- In spectator mode, the TV frame now fills the whole window on wide screens, with the queue counter on its top edge.
🎮 Games & NPCs
- Shutter Showdown: your snaps are now accepted when you submit them, and everyone's snaps show up properly when you vote.
- Prep Rush: Remy's dishes no longer sit on empty white buttons.
- The toolbar now stays visible, dimmed, during NPC conversations instead of turning black.
Thanks again for testing Keystone. Keep the reports coming!
See you in the hotel!
