We now know who sent the masked surveyors to Deepgrove. It raises another question about that tablet.
Yesterday, we asked who was paying for all those clipboards at Deepgrove. We now have a name. Glukko.
The masked survey team working beyond the first courtyard represents the company you may remember from its summer treats. It seems to have developed an interest in local history.
A familiar mark
The Glukko Tablet was already an odd find, with the company's business logo carved into its centre. With Glukko's own surveyors now at the site, we'd quite like to hear an explanation.
The floodlights are up around the tablet, and the team is taking a very careful look. The masks have stayed on. We haven't been told whether that is just because of the dust.
More questions about the ground
Their digging has already exposed the Ironstone, Claystone, Gilded and Verdigris ruins we reported on yesterday. But the carved stones still don't seem to be the reason for the visit.
They wanted to know who owns the land and whether anything had been taken away. When we pointed to the tablet, one of them asked about the ground underneath it.
Glukko describes the work as an opportunity to get to know the area. The company has made no announcement about its plans for Deepgrove.
The excavation continues
The four new ranges are still being unearthed and prepared for the Catalogue. They are not on sale yet. We'll share their release details in Hotel news.
We'll keep an eye on the site. Those shoes aren't quite so clean any more.
