Chat settings, crisper pixels and a round of fixes

Today's client update brings a chat settings menu, crisp pixels and a round of fixes from your feedback.

project_keystoneToday's client update is all about everyday comfort, and a lot of it comes straight from your reports and suggestions. Thank you to everyone who sent them in! Here's what's new.

Chat

  • The chat panel has a new cog next to its pop-out and pin buttons. It opens Chat settings, where you can hide the "joined" and "left" lines in the room log and choose whether you're notified when someone mentions your name. Turn joins and leaves back on and the earlier ones come back too.
  • When the chat panel is minimised, its Chat button now counts only lines that mention your name, plus whispers sent to you, instead of every line said in the room.
  • You can now copy and paste in the chat box. Before, Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V (Cmd on a Mac) cleared whatever you'd typed.

Rooms and furni

  • Everyone in a private room now gets the same furni list in the chat panel's Furni tab. Visitors see the same list as the owner, with Pick up, Rotate and Eject greyed out, instead of the old Furni List window.
  • Furni that gives off light, like holograms, lamps and torches, now keeps its full glow in lit rooms instead of being dimmed along with everything else.
  • The Skull Candle Holder now lights up the room around it properly.
  • Smoke machines, like the Saturn Smoke Machine, puff smoke again, and their light goes out when you switch them off.
  • The Room Lighting editor has a new white room colour, for lighting a room without tinting it.
  • Precise Move, Wall Move, Bulk Move and the compost window now reopen where you last left them.
  • The Mood Light window no longer shows a white box behind "Background only".

Menus

  • Update Habbo has moved to the bottom of the menu that opens when you click your head on the toolbar.
  • Fixed the chat panel sometimes appearing on top of that menu.
  • Opening the HabMoji menu no longer expands the room panel at the bottom left (the one with the room's name). It now expands only when you hover over it or use it.

Display and controls

You'll find the new options in the Game Menu (press Esc), under Graphics.

  • Crisp pixels for the Resizable display. Auto, the default, draws whole, sharp pixels whenever that hides only a little of the room. On always does, and Off keeps the smooth scaling.
  • Drag room with lets you drag the room with the middle or right mouse button instead of the left, so a left click never moves the view by accident.
  • Fixed the UI scale setting doing nothing in a maximised window, for example 2x on a 1080p screen.
  • The speech bubble Size setting now only offers sizes that actually look different in your window.
  • The client now remembers your window's size and position between sessions. The very first launch opens at the classic 960x540.

Other fixes

  • Season 2 EC Tokens you win during a session can now be spent straight away. Before, the shop only knew your balance from when you logged in and told you that you didn't have enough.
  • Windows: we've made the client more robust on some older graphics hardware, where it could stop at launch with "Failed to create GPU pipeline for blit". If that happened to you, please let us know whether it starts for you now.

As always, let us know what you think and keep the feedback coming.

See you in the hotel!
